What kind of yoga is offered at BYS?

Bristol Yoga Studio offers a blend of hatha yoga styles and is available to all experience levels.

Our teaching is influenced by many traditions, including Kripalu, Anusara, and Ashtanga.

We offer many types of classes at Bristol Yoga Studio: Gentle, All Levels, and Vinyasa, as well as specialty classes: Hot Yoga, Yoga and Ayurveda, and Prenatal Yoga.

What does this mean?

In a nutshell...

... if you are just beginning your yoga practice and are interested in practicing yoga for relaxation, meditation, and to cultivate lots of body awareness, you should come to a Gentle Class.

... if you are interested in learning yoga asanas (postures), building core strength, and getting lots of instruction in postural alignment and breathwork, an All Levels Class is for you.

... if you've been practicing for a time and are interested in a 'flow' class, we'd recommend coming to a Vinyasa class.

Hot Yoga is just that... HOT! We practice in a heated room (85-90 degrees) and follow a vinyasa flow trend to the class. This class is recommended for folks who've been practicing for some time. Be sure to bring your towel and some water.

Prenatal Yoga is for women 6 - 36 weeks pregnant to practice poses that focus on strengthening and concentration, breathing for relaxation and nourishment and meditation for focus and relaxation.

That said, we mean it when we say that all classes are available to all levels. We are not just teaching asana, but yoga, so please feel welcome to come to any class that suits your schedule.
