From time to time, Bristol Yoga Studio will offer one time workshop type classes for the community.

Blissful Back Workshop

Last Friday of every month- 6:30pm-8:30pm
Next class: Friday, January 27, 2012 - 6:30pm-8:30pm $35 - or three classes on your class card (unlimited class cards cannot be used for this class) During this class we'll move slowly through a series of poses using blankets, cushions and blocks to help support the body and encourage release of deep spinal tension.
This is not a flow yoga class; during the class, your body will be fully supported using blocks and props while you rest in a handful of poses for several minutes. This restorative practice is rejuvenating and will allow room for clarity and softness. Pre-registration is required 48 hours before each class. This twelve- week journey during the darkest winter months will bring us together in support and trust; offering a safe space for deep tuning in and turning on the light of creative expression. A meaningful way to begin 2012, we'll explore a variety of highly effective exercises and activities that spur imagination and capture new ideas. The book is readily available in the Rhode Island Library network...all you need is the desire to find out more and the willingness to dive deeper into your own spiritual connection to the creative energy of life. Join Shiva for a workshop breaking down poses you do all the time in your asana practice. - Downdog - Updog - Plank/Chaturunga - Utkatasana with and without twist Shiva will work through the key alignments for moving into an out of these poses, talk about common misalignments and explore various modifications and expressions of these poses. Bring a notebook and be prepared to move to try out these poses and further explore your asana practice. Come experience Laughter Yoga for yourself. This is not yoga as you know it! Laughter Yoga can be done sitting or standing. There is no need for special clothing or equipment. A flexible mind is the only flexibility needed!
This is a beginner's class for parents of students who attend Colt Andrews School, scheduled to coincide with the after school kid yoga program at Colt Andrews. Spring Session - Mar 7, Mar 14, Mar 21, Mar 28 - 3:15-4pm. Pre-registration is required for the session. A minimum of four pre-paid attendees for the session is required. Spring Session Registration: Sunday, April 22, 2012; 1p-3:30p Springtime is nature's transitional season, come learn how to harness that energy into your own life. We'll explore how Spring's opportunities for health, balance, weightloss. You will learn the benefits of a seasonal routine (ritucharya) and how to develop and put your own into practice. $35 - please register in advance by April 20, 2012.
