What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is a practice that can reach the body's inner wisdom through assisted yoga postures accompanied by client non-directive dialogue exploring physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions for healing and opening a way to self-awareness.Is this available only to yoga students?
No 'yoga' experience is required as the yoga therapist moves your body into the various yoga postures. All assisted postures are selected and supported based on your individual needs.Will Yoga Therapy help me be more flexible in my yoga class?
This is a wonderful way to discover your body alighment contraindications and precautions for continued and safe yoga practice.What am I to expect from a yoga therapy session when it is over?
You will garner prescribed specific regimens of postures, breathing expercises and relaxation techniques to suit your individual needs and lifesytle. Yoga therapy subscribes the practice of yoga to the needs of people with or without specific or persistent health problems not usually addressed in a group class.
A Message from Amelia: I believe that all that human beings need to know to be happy is with us all the time. We all possess infinite wisdom. However, we mostly get in the way of our knowing. We don't have a way or process to this inner voice. Yoga therapy presents an opening to access our inner wisdom and truths. Guided yoga therapy sessions facilitate tuning into our mind/body so we are able to learn how to know our inner most thoughts, feelings, emotions and wisdoms. We become aware, we accept and fully feel what is occurring in our lives. Yoga therapy is the adaptation of yoga practices as relates to mind/body communication.
